The Story

The Daily Herald wrote a story on May 18 about the District 214 school board member Leslie Pinney that wants to ban at least seven books from the schools. Excerpts from the story: "Northwest Suburban High School District 214 school board member Leslie Pinney is leading a push to get seven books bumped from required reading lists next year, saying they are littered with lewd language and graphic sexual references inappropriate for teens." Also, "Pinney has not read any of the books, and "I don't know if I would want to," she says."

Petition

Scott Leipprandt, a District 214 student, has set up a petition for D214 students, parents, and staff to sign to oppose the actions of Leslie Pinney. It is available here. This website will be updated with information on the story as it becomes available.
